Margaret River - Pemberton Day Trip

If you’re staying in Margaret River and looking for an exciting day trip, Pemberton offers a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and relaxation. Here’s a detailed itinerary for a memorable day that will take you through stunning landscapes and unique experiences.

Remember before you arrive to book into the Beach & Forest Eco Adventure - if we do not have the day or time available for you please WhatsApp or SMS Toni on +61 427 133335. You will also need to book in your Tram , Cruise or Aerial Adventure. Make sure you remind your morning tour guides that you have booked another tour in the afternoon so we get you back in town in time.

Start your day early by leaving Margaret River at 7 am.

  • Head south on Bussel Highway through the charming town of Karridale.

  • Turn Left into Brockman Highway,

  • Right onto Stewart Road,

  • Right onto Vasse Highway.

This scenic drive takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, allowing you to arrive in Pemberton with plenty of time to spare.

Need Breakfast?

Upon arriving in Pemberton, head straight to The Crossings Bakery, the second building on the right as you enter town. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and mingle with your fellow travellers. The bakery offers a variety of fresh pastries, vegan and vegetarian options, and great coffee to kickstart your day.

We will be there! At 9 am, embark on the Beach & Forest Eco Adventure with Pemberton Discovery Tours. This tour departs from The Crossings Bakery and takes you through the enchanting old-growth forests in the Warren National Park. Explore the magnificent Yeagarup Dunes in the D'Entrecasteaux National Park and enjoy a thrilling drive along the beach to the mouth of the Warren River.

This off-the-beaten-path adventure offers breathtaking scenery and unique experiences you won’t find on typical tours. A picnic lunch with coffee is included, adding a perfect touch to your wilderness journey.

We will return to town around 1 - 1.30pm

After your eco-adventure, you may like to join one of these fantastic options to continue your exploration of Pemberton:

1:30 pm: For a relaxing and scenic experience, join the Donnelly River Cruise. Departing from town, this cruise parallels the journey of the 4WD tour but offers a completely different perspective. Cruise through serene waters, enjoying the tranquility and unique scenery. Consider leaving your car at Karri Valley (2pm) to make an easier departure back home after the cruise.

2 pm: Hop on a forest tram journey with the Pemberton Tramway Company. Travel along the historic railway to the Cascades, a series of beautiful rapids in the forest. The open tram cart and insightful commentary along the route make this trip enjoyable for all ages. You should finish by 3.30pm (tip - coffee is available from the General store if other cafes are closed.)

For those seeking a bit more adventure, visit the Gloucester Tree (open 24/7) and try the Aerial Adventure park. Last tickets are sold at 3.30 pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy zip-lining and navigating the obstacle course through the treetops. This activity is perfect for active individuals aged 4 to 70.

Flexible Tour Options

On occasion, Pemberton Discovery Tours can swap the morning Beach & Forest Eco Adventure with an afternoon trip departing at 2pm. This flexibility allows you to enjoy the Tram or Donnelly River Cruise in the morning and the 4WD adventure in the afternoon. We are always happy to chat to make sure your day is perfect.

Conclude your day with an early dinner at one of Pemberton’s cozy restaurants. For a unique dining experience, consider stopping by RAC Karri Valley for a lakeside meal or take a scenic route through Nannup and enjoy dinner along the way.
