This month, Pemberton Discovery Tours, in partnership with Trackcare WA, Department of Conservation, Biodiversity and Attractions, Keep Australia Beautiful Council, Shire of Manjimup and Tangaroa Blue, is bringing locals together for an annual Beach Clean-Up event, aiming to protect and preserve our stunning coastline. The clean-up, held at our Yeagarup, Callcup and Marlimup beaches, is an opportunity for our community to make a real difference while enjoying the beauty of our natural environment.
Tangaroa Blue, a foundation dedicated to removing and managing marine debris, will be assisting with supplies and data collection to track the waste we collect. Grant has once again coordinated the Trackcare WA crew, well-known for their commitment to trail preservation and natural environment protection, and they join us once again in providing volunteers to make this event such a success.
“The goal isn’t just about picking up rubbish,” says Graeme Dearle, Director of Pemberton Discovery Tours. “It’s about raising awareness around the impact of waste on our coastal ecosystem and how we can all take small steps to reduce it. We’re lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and this is one way to keep it that way.”
This clean-up event has been carefully planned to provide both safety and fun. Families, nature lovers, and adventure seekers are all encouraged to take part. This day isn’t just for picking up litter; it’s a great way for people to connect with each other, appreciate the landscape, and gain insight into the efforts required to maintain it.
The beach clean-up kicks off with a group briefing, followed by a tag-along drive to various collection sites. Volunteers are welcome to bring gloves, and a readiness to contribute to the local ecosystem, rubbish bags are provided.
Pemberton Discovery Tours, Trackcare WA, KABC, DBCA and Tangaroa Blue extend a warm invitation to all community members. Join us in keeping our coastline free from pollution, safeguarding it for future generations.
